It&#39;s become clear to me as an observer of journalism that one of their issues is that the complexity of current topics has outpaced traditional journalism&#39;s ability to decode it and get to the real heart of the story. The topic pages seem like an attempt to address this through a vehicle which forces the beat reporters to go back and identify some of the fundamental drivers of certain topics and share that with their audience.
